Arnold Winter Speaks at Mid-Atlantic Consultants Network

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, December 8, 2003 – Attorneys Arnold Winter of Lipton, Weinberger & Husick, and Adam Garson of Ralph A. Jacobs & Associates, LLC, spoke today on “Legal Issues for Consultants” at the monthly meeting of the Mid-Atlantic Consultants Network at Villanova University.

Mr. Winter and Mr. Garson explained how the law can help independent consultants limit business risks, reduce the cost of doing business, and increase business opportunities. Both speakers specifically stressed the possibility of using limited liability business structures and the need to pay attention to contractual issues in operating an independent consulting practice.

"There is no such thing as a ‘standard contract,’” Mr. Winter said. Mr. Winter also addressed the value of intellectual property protection, and Mr. Garson discussed various means for resolving business disputes.

The meeting was sponsored and moderated by Mid-Atlantic Consultants Network member James Chan, Ph.D., president of Asia Marketing and Management and author of Spare Room Tycoon. In introducing Mr. Winter and Mr. Garson, Mr. Chan said: “Arnold Winter and Adam Garson can help entrepreneurs evaluate their legal needs and costs before huge fees are spent on law firms that are impersonal except toward their multinational corporate clients.”

Mr. Chan has also invited Mr. Winter and Mr. Garson to speak again at the monthly meeting of the Chemical Consultants Network on February 11, 2004, in Bala Cynwyd.
